Saturday, February 27, 2010 I can't believe I didn't blog about this. When clearly it was a 'highlight' of my vacation. During the Chinese New Year holidays, I went to Johor with the family and left bf behind (heheh). I know, I make it seem like it's a hugggeeee deal when padahal it's only Johor -.- Woah. I typed in a Malay word, how rare and random is that?! Anyway, we stayed for one night at Thistle Johor Bahru...It's a new hotel, the management took over from Hyatt and renamed it. Hotel was awesome, service was BAD. We paid about S$90 per day per room and booked through Latestays.com. When we got there and wanted to check in, 1. There were a whole lot of people in the lobby waiting for their rooms so there was a long queue. Queue for a hotel room? How often does that happen? 2. Seats in the lobby were fully taken of course, and having to wait for our rooms were tiresome. 3. Staff had a haughty look each and every one of them, none cracked a smile and spoke in monotone. 4. Staff who served us claimed the booking did not go through the system, but my sister was ready for that and showed her a printed confirmation from Latestays so they couldn't deny us our rooms. 5. Only one room was ready and we had to wait another 30mins for the other 2 rooms. So all 6 of us trudged up to that one room that's supposed to be my parents' and sat around and watched tv first. They told us 30mins, but we had to keep calling the front desk to ask whether our rooms were ready. After 1hour and 15mins had gone past, my sister got mad and stormed down to the lobby to demand an explanation. The duty manager was non-chalant and didn't know snitch about customer service. Truly, very horrible service there. Such a waste as the rooms were lovely with modern walls and were very well-equipped. They even provided a disposable shaver with shaving cream, cotton pads, cotton buds, an iron and ironing board....oh, and a hair dryer on top of the mandatory shower essentials. Enough about the hotel, on to the shopping and the 'highlight' of my trip. At Tesco Tebrau City, our vehicle got broken into and the thief got away with my bag and my younger sister's. Whoever he/she is, I hope he gets knocked down by a bullet train and rots while drain rats nibble on his toes and vultures rip hair from his scalp. Yes, I'm that angry. Coz we got a dressing down by my dad coz we sort of 'lured' him to target our vehicle as we left our bags on the backseats instead of in the boot. Argh. All my makeup...and my Sigma brushes! And my swimming wear that my Mummy got for me for my birthday :( I only wore it once and it got stolen. Like, I've never had a swimsuit before and always get in a fight with my sisters if I wanna borrow from them, and on my birthday Mummy finally bought one for me and Ugh! He just HAD to steal it?? Damn the thief to hades, I want so badly to poke his eyes out. And no, I didn't have any valuables in there. Only my precious makeup...and my brushes....my babies.... :( I did get some stuff from Johor...like a 4pc empty palette from Elianto, and I got 4 eyeshadows from them as well in Wine Red, Baby Pink, Lilac and Olive Green. Also a spoolie brush....and I got a hot pink mirror with a studded butterfly on it as a free gift for spending $50 and more! :) I'm still pretty bummed about the theft. Learnt my lesson, I will NEVER leave my bag in the car EVER. Labels: travels |
