Sunday, July 11, 2010 In The Groove Buys + Alot of Rambling MAC's In the Groove Collection left me wanting so bad and I did some damage to the pocket. This was a collective haul, I got these on 2 occasions. Ok so, first story: On Friday morning when the collection launched in Singapore, I had to be in school by 11am for PAL Programme which is a CCA-thing for lower primary. And knowing how hyped and sought-after Stereo Rose was, I didn't want to end up disappointed again like the To The Beach collection where I missed out on the Highlight Powder and the Hipness Blush. So umm.... I woke up early and went to Tangs Orchard before school. Yes, I admit I was one of those who waited for the store to open so I could rush in like a mad woman and grab that *preciousssss*. But I swear, there were 5 other women waiting around with me and once the doors opened, they started swatching and bought 3 Stereo Roses at one go! I ended up with a Stereo Rose MSF, Band of Roses Mineralize Blush and a huge smile on my face at school.
And he went, "Oh we don't have that colour here, it's limited edition kot?" And I was kind of shocked when he said that, since when was Wood-winked LE? Fact is. He wasn't even near the stand when he threw that comment to me. He was at the cashier table. And D said my face just changed totally. It's one thing to not know your products, but it's totally another to insult a customer and insinuating that I don't know crap about makeup. I was so pissed, I just ignored him and continued searching. And the previous lady whom served me came over and thank god for her, really. She made the effort to recommend me Club instead which she claimed was her favourite brown shadow. And so I got it....it took me another hour after leaving the MAC store and bitching to D before I calmed myself down enough to enjoy my dinner at Sushi King. Ok, rant over. Sorry for the lengthy post and I apologise if I sound spoilt or something.. Anyway, a shout-out to Vonvon from Vonvon's Interests! Thank you for your advise when I left a tag on your message board! And I hope ur MAC store brings in the mineralize eyeshadow trios soon coz I know ur holding out for those! :)

Monday, April 19, 2010 Just came back from dinner with the bf....3 days straight, woohoo! Rare occurance, should take a moment to let it sink it . . . . . Woohooo!! Ok done. Saturday, D fetched me after his morning run and we went to swap my Taka vouchers with Tangs vouchers at AMK. Gumtree.sg is awesome, so many responses in such short time. Stopped at AMK Central and D got 2 really nice shirts for $50 at Spade. Went shopping for some baby stuff, will explain that later. Went to his house and waited for him to bathe. Something REAL embarrassing happened while I was at his house but I shan't say it. GOD, how cherry tomato-faced I must've been. Must be cherry tomato coz even though it's red, it's still cute mah? HAHA. After that we dropped his sisters off at Centrepoint and went over to Tangs to get my hands on some MAC. ![]() Studio Fix Concealer NC30 - My old one was stolen at JB and there was probably 80% left :( Browset in Beguile Sped to D's teammate's house at Punggol for a gathering, his friend's twins turned one month and they had an open house. That's what the baby stuff was for! How nice to have twins! One girl one boy, I also want! It's like the perfect combination, you can stop right at 2 and get the best of both worlds/both sexes. Left at about 730pm and original plan was to crash Downtown East and eat sushi, but it was packed and parking was crazayy. So abandon ship and we went over to East Coast Park. Got strawberry milkshake and chili fries and we ate along the way back home... Reached home quite early too, at 915pm! Who's a good girl? :DSunday! We went out after D finished work and original plan was to catch a movie at Bukit Batok Eng Wah. But his friend said that BB Eng Wah has cockroaches! And D freaked out and didn't wanna step foot in the cinema. Hehe, I exaggerate. Anyway, we ended up at Causeway Point and got some dinner into our system.
I LOVED THE MOVIE. I even liked it better than Clash of The Titans! On par with Alice in Wonderland. Again, anyone noticed I loveee animation movies? I'm visualizing D rolling his eyes right now. Animation Movies + Makeup + Food = Story of My Life!

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 Pigs can fly. Mountains can move. I just saw an erected table at the PASAR in front of my house selling fake MAC products. No testing allowed. A blush for $12. Since when did the PASAR get so hip and groovy? HAHAHA. My opinion on fake MACs....well it's cheaper yes, almost half the price of the original. Colour payoff that their eyeshadows and blushes give are quite good. Quality-wise like how fine their pigments are or the packaging that they come in, are of course of lesser quality than the original. I happen to own one fake MAC product, a reddish blush that I got from Johor. But that's it and it didn't break me out! Personally though, I wouldn't go near fake foundations coz these are stuff that goes into the pores of your skin...Blushes and eyeshadows are just swipes of colour on top of foundation, but foundation itself is a base. So it's a big No-No for me. But I strongly believe in this: I have 1 skin that I live in and taking care of it is pretty easy actually. Why subject it to fake cosmetics/skincare that would put it at risk? If I don't have the money for high-end products, then make do with drugstore ones that are certified and safe, but save up for a splurge every now and then for originals. You wouldn't want to be seen touching up in the public washroom with a fake MAC. There are sooo many drugstore brands that are on par or not better than high-end names. You could never go wrong with Revlon, Maybelline and Loreal. And maybe with a debit card, go get NYX! I wouldn't get NYX from the Guardians in Singapore, the displays never did look appealing to me -.- Anyway...how fast time flies, it's nearly the end of the holidays!! And then it'd be back to school for me... Dunno what lies ahead, it's both scary and exciting right now. Hopefully the class I'm taking won't give me too much trouble insyallah. Darn, I'm bored and broke. No one wants to entertain me. And D, make Thursday come faster pretty please? And oh yea, I got a haircut two days ago. Just layers, nothing too fancy. I think I look like a tomboy trying to look feminine now HAHA. Will take pictures on Thursday maybe.

Friday, December 18, 2009 Heylo!! I'm on a sugar rush right now minus the sugar. Coz thats what shopping does to you! Yes, I went shopping again so sue me. -.- Today was "Sister's Day" by the way. At 11 we left home for my youngest sis' (Anis) school to get her books for next year. Turns out, most of her textbooks were sold out so she could only get like 3 art supplies haha. Cabbed to Orchard Ion and went Sephora to get some stuff. And then to Wheelock Place for sushi lunch buffet and then took the MRT to IKEA Tampines. Got some other stuff to remake my bedroom. And then cabbed home coz D couldn't send us back at the last minute. Our stuff from IKEA. Got two new makeshift wardrobes to replace the bulky ones we have currently (pictured), a full-length mirror, a small side table, several baskets to stack as a display for my bear collection, hangers for the wardrobe and a table mirror. ![]() ![]() O.o reason for my sugar rush - Brush Cleanser, Viva La Juicy Perfume (this smells AWWWesome! Wanted to get Paris Hilton's but caved in and splurged on this instead. I couldn't get enough of the fruity girly scent! Paris Hilton's was a little too spicy for my taste), MSF Natural in Medium Dark (finally!). Am awaiting excitedly for my mail to come...*hinthint* :D But after everything arrives, I'm on a strict self-budget for the rest of this month and the next as well. A girl can only splurge *this* far....

Saturday, November 14, 2009 Stuff I got today! ![]() 1. Black-blue jeans tights from Hang Ten draped right at the back I love this! Hard to believe I got it at Hang Ten, a shop that I wouldnt usually step in. Love the material and how it hugs the curvessss. $25 after 30% discount 2. White and black striped bag with red lining center Mummy gave this to me. Looks chic! She got it as a gift after getting some facial set at Plaza Singapura. 3. Jose' Eber travel straightening iron front right OH.MY.GOD. This wasn't even on my shopping list but as we were walking along GAP, this caucasian guy approached us and asked for a minute of our time, promising we won't regret it. He motioned me to seat in front of the mirror and started introducing a couple of hair irons on the ledge of the mirror. I groaned inwardly but being the polite girl I am (haha), I gave him his full minute. (He's the manager of the Vivo store btw, name is Omer. Go look for him, he's really nice!) He asked me if I wanted curling or straightening, and commented I would look great with curls so whaddaheck, curls it is. He started with only two curls at the front of my hair and it was so promising, i swear.
In 10mins, he did my whole head and softened the curls with a special brush. It was soooo prettyy! Very celebrity-ish! Omer went all out and gave us a good price ($139 instead of $149 he usually offers to everyone else for the curling iron, free travel straightener and the comb). This here is a lifetime warranty product you guys...and if you use the curling iron and find that you get tired of curls, you can exchange it for a straightener (full size) instead anytime! I was darn tempted to go overbudget and just splurge on the iron. But i managed to persuade myself to get it on next month's bonus instead. But bcoz Omer was so sweet and persuasive, I consoled myself with the travel straightener @ $49. Look at the design on the box! Sweet!
